| Hardware Settings |
|
This month LumiDesk introduces the Hardware settings feature. The Hardware settings window allows you to setup the LumiDesk USB-DMX interfaces, in order to test the ports triggering and to get information about the devices. LumiDesk can control 3 DMX Universes, on the Hardware settings window each DMX Universe is represented by a XLR connector. Each USB-DMX interface is represented by a picture of the actual interface, front view. To assign an output to one of the 3 DMX Universe just drag and drop the USB-DMX output representation to the DMX Universe. It is the same for the input, a DMX Board is represented on that window, just drag and drop the input. If you want to assign a touchpad you will have to do the same manipulation, that is to say, drag and drop the port panel to the USB-DMX interface.
The Hardware settings window is very useful to setup your DMX Inputs and Outputs; the drag and drop method make this feature fast and user friendly.
If you have any comments or questions regarding this new feature, please feel free to Contact Us. Thank you.

| LumiDesk NANO |
|
Introducing the NEW Nano to the LumiDesk family. This simple stand-alone interface gives you all of the power of LumiDesk at an entry-level cost.
Nano allows you to control your DMX fixtures in live-mode or in stand-alone mode without any connection to a PC. The 3K embedded memory can store 189 scenes for 12 DMX channels or 45 scenes for 60 DMX channels. You can also control 128 DMX channels maximum in live-mode.
With these features, and backed by the power of LumiDesk, the Nano adds a new dimension to the LumiDesk family.

| Stand-Alone Mode |
|
This month LumiDesk introduces the stand-alone mode feature.
The stand-alone mode allows you to store your show inside the USB-DMX Interface. The new LumiDesk Ultimate interface has an SDCard instead of built-in memory, so if you want to update your saved show you just need to write the new files on the SDCard and put it in the interface slot. In the new version of the software, the stand-alone window has been improved. Now you can select the sequences that you want to assign from the list on the right, and drag and drop them to the memory area. Same thing with the ports.
The stand-alone mode is very useful when you only want to bring the USB-DMX interface on the show, if you want to avoid the risk of a computer crash, and if you want to use LumiDesk as a Architectural Lighting controller. By the way the new LumiDesk NANO has a small embedded stand-alone memory that allows you to store a few scenes.
If you have any comments or questions regarding this new feature, please feel free to Contact Us. Thank you.

| Links |
|
This month LumiDesk introduces the "Links" feature (for LumiDesk ULTIMATE only).
You can use the "Links" feature to control channels in either Live or Program mode. You can assign each channel to a DMX-Input and use your DMX-board. You can also do the same with a MIDI board with sliders. It's very easy to assign the Input to a channel. In Program mode click the small "link" button in the channel window, then choose the Input type (Midi or DMX-In). A "status" window will appear. To create the link you just need to move one of the sliders on the board and it's done! You can then control the channels in Live and Program mode. This function is a great help for Live control.
In Live mode, each Sequence and Cue can be controlled with DMX-In, MIDI key, Ports and Shortcuts. The way to assign this is simple. Right-click on the Sequence or Cue button and select the kind of link you want to create (Port, MIDI, DMX-In, etc.). For DMX-In, you need to define the level and the action. For example, if the value is more than 127, the action will "Start", so the Sequence will start automatically when you reach level 127 on the DMX-In channel.
If you have any comments or questions regarding this new feature, please feel free to Contact Us. Thank you.
